Who am I? I’m Faye. Soon enough I will be joined by others. Individually and collectively we are;
conscious and passionate educators and travel providers. We are bold, brave, authentic and
ethical. We aim to challenge assumptions and the status quo, doing education, travel and life differently.

After just under 25 years working in the travel industry and academia I reach a point whereby my life has been enriched with
extensive experience of the travel and higher education sectors and the world around me, that I have chosen
to take a giant leap of faith and ‘go it alone’, to share what I have learned with these sector more
widely and enrich and deepen my own experience through working with a greater range of
education and travel providers and well as becoming a travel practitioner again via The Brave Stays and The Brave Advocates. 

My experience is vast, having started my career in retail travel before joining Higher Education. Delivering, developing and designing quality higher
education within the FE sector initially, having then worked for a range of UK based HEIs and universities overseas. For the
last 13 years I have specialised in personalised, digital and online learning, and it is this particular
interest and experience, coupled with a strong work ethic and personal values which has led to
the creation of The Brave.

Why “The Brave”, isn’t that an odd name for a company? Well, I strongly believe that for change
to be effected, it needs bravery, those with a passion to change and to drive change, and the
willingness to be different. I don’t always feel brave, but I want to remind myself that for change
to happen, for wonderful things to happen, we need to step outside of our comfort zone. I have
been humbled by the voices of those who know me who have described me as such. I didn’t see
myself like that but I passionately wanted to embody bravery; to make things happen for me and
others.

Leading with this name ensures that this central value, and, so it would appear, trait, is front and centre of my
approach to working and living. The Brave portfolio encompasses a range of work I am devoted to, across the Travel and Education sectors.
