The Brave Advocates

We advocate

A fundamental principle of The Brave is collaboration above competition.

We want to recognise, celebrate and champion tourism organisations, projects and initiatives who do good whether that is socially or environmentally or both, wherever they are.

The Brave Advocates represents those organisations who share a similar mission of:

Doing things differently, breaking down barriers to ethical and alternative travel for budget conscious travellers by offering unique, authentic and ethically managed travel experiences which promote disconnection, wellbeing, rehabilitation, rejuvenation, quality time with loved ones, cultural immersion and appreciation of the natural surroundings.

In connection, as The Brave Stays (Originals) practice donating a small amount of their nightly revenue to a range of charitable causes, these causes are listed here.

Prakriti Resort & Organic Farm
Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, on the outskirts of Kathmandu, Nepal

Prakriti Resort & Organic Farm, established in 2018, is a community-based an eco-tourism enterprise located within the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, on the outskirts of Kathmandu, Nepal.

Our mission is to promote eco-friendly tourism, empower local communities, and preserve biodiversity through sustainable practices, including organic farming and eco-conscious hospitality.

The term “Prakriti” is derived from Sanskrit and commonly used in Nepali to mean “nature” or the natural state of things. It reflects the resort’s foundational philosophy of living in harmony with the environment—an idea that resonates with global sustainability values and aligns with Indigenous Australian concepts of land stewardship and ecological balance.

Established in the aftermath of the 2015 earthquake, the resort represents a collaborative initiative between the Nepal Environment and Tourism Initiative Foundation (NETIF) and local stakeholders. Its development reflects a broader trend in sustainable tourism, where environmental conservation and community development are integrated into the business model.

The resort operates on principles of sustainable tourism, aiming to minimize ecological impact while promoting local culture and biodiversity. It incorporates organic farming as a core component of its operations, supplying fresh produce to its on-site kitchen and demonstrating a farm-to-table approach. This not only supports environmental goals but also enhances the guest experience through transparency and quality.

A distinguishing feature of Prakriti’s model is its emphasis on community involvement. Local residents are engaged through employment opportunities and shared ownership structures, ensuring that economic benefits are distributed within the region. This approach aligns with inclusive business practices and contributes to rural development.
